Aquamaxx CT1 or RO varios 140 CaRx for 140 gallon mixed reef?

So I'm looking to set up a calcium reactor on a new tank, and I'm trying to decide between the Reef Octopus varios 140 and the Aquamaxx CT1. Space will be at a premium, so that's a concern. I like that the RO has the varios pump, as I'm hoping to get a Hydros wave pump at some point, and that will allow me to eliminate a power brick. However, for the price of the Aquamaxx I could probably buy a varios pump separately and add, as the RO is more than twice as much.

I guess the question is, is there any compelling reason to spend lots of extra $$$ for the Reef Octopus?
