I broke my hydrometer mid water change, I just ordered my first refractometer brand listed in title. Is this a reliable one? There wasn’t many reviews. I just hope I got my salinity close enough I’m super stressed at the moment.

That refractometer should be fine; all the different brands of this type are pretty much the same (except for some new ones with internal lights.)
Is your tank ok? Too many stressors in this hobby, that's for sure. :)

I calibrated mine every time I pulled it out. Worked great though.

I've not heard much about it, but like all manual refractometers, it is best calibrated with a 35 ppt standard rather than pure RO/DI (although theoretically, if it works perfectly as claimed, pure fresh water will work for this particular one since it is designed to be a true seawater refractometer).

Randy makes a good point here. I will say I calibrated mine with the standard 35 ppt solution and found that when I did the 0 mark was dead on with RO/DI. For that reason I would only occasionally use the standard to calibrate and found using RO/DI worked fine for a quick adjustment.

I was looking at this one - are you still happy with it?
