Aquaone Nano 80 - 130L

Here is my Aquaone Nano 80 - Its a 130 L. Its up and running about 2 weeks now. How it looks:

I've about 13kg of live rock, a tunze 6025 wavemaker. The first wild life went in at weekend 5 scarlet hermit crab and 5 nassarius snails.

Thats the plan, maybe a couple of turbo snails this week then fish a week later. Fish in by December 1st is the plan. Just a couple of small clowns to start.

Thanks, I think I'm going to tweak the middle rock by rotating it slightly to show more rock and tighten the gaps up. I've also added two tiny bits of rock to the right side on the sand to pull the feature out. I'll try get a new picture up tomorrow.

Meet Mako and Tiger, first fish into the tank. So far they seem to be doing well. They're mostly staying each end of the tank but they're regularly swimming the length of it.

I've sligtly elongated the structure, rotated the right base rock to give more land for coral placement, pulled the centre rock forward into the light againto give coral options as it was doing nothing hidden under the plate and built a mini pinnacle which probably won't last long as it will topple as soon as a snail/crab gets near it.

I'm still not 100% sure on the plate but thinking once some coarls get going it will look better.

Evening

came across the build. Looks good. Are you messing with me on the rock changes. I like the rock but they all look the same to me. But, lots of stuff looks alike to me so I am not a good judge. Keep updating the pics. Progress looks good.

The rock changes were fairly subtle and didn't really show up in the photos. I had a few major alterations before I joined up here.

I just need to get my head around the lighting now, to strike a balance between what I like to look at and whats good for the corals.

Duncan was one of my first corals too, love them.

I re did my rockwork last night.

@mrbluewildcats my duncan was doing great under my first lights. But since the new lights went on it harder to keeo happy. Any coral added after the new lights are fine its just getting the older ones adjusted.

My duncan had some issues with an emerald crab I thought had disappeared. I moved it to a frag rack for a couple of months then to a new spot and now it's putting on 5 new heads. Hope yours gets adjusted.

I've added a tunze 6015 for extra flow.

I've also lost a few corals duncans candycanes and a montipora.

Here we are now after 15 months.

I’ve been battling cyano for a while but eventually got param back to where they should be. And have a plan to hopefully see a reduction in the cyano soon.

My return pump failed last week so I upgraded to an Oase Optimax 800 pump. Which gives me an extra 80L per hour. It definitely seems more powerful and you can visibly see the difference with the pull through into the filter area.

Livestock wise: I lost a clownfish and neon goby. Literally no idea what happened. My tailspot I threw out by accident, He ended up in a container of dirty water which I threw down a drain out side.

Corals: Went through a rocky patch when Nitrate got a bit out of hand and I got a bit over ambitious. Any thing stony I lost, bar a hammer which is barely hanging on but still there so we'll see what happens, so focused on softies for a while. At the weekend I picked up a small blasto frag to try out.
