Aquarium Lighting Program Hydra Edge 44 HD

Hi Reefers. I have a Hydra Edge 44HD that I have setup for my Cade nano (500mm x500mm x 500mm) tank size.

I will be running a mixed reef.

The edge comes with 3 pre set lighting programs. I am using the preset lighting program called solar blue at 30% intensity.

Does anyone have a custom excellent lighting program they could share with me for my lights or is the suggestion to stick with one of the pre set lighting schedules provided within the Hydra Edge 44 hd.

Any general feedback on the lighting would be much appreciated.

The total light cycle is about 10 hours from sun rise to sun set that I am running on the solar blue light settings

For a mixed reef, 30% is a reasonable starting point, but I would not choose a schedule based only on the preset or percentage. The important factor is PAR at the coral level. Aim for roughly 75 to 150 PAR for soft corals and LPS, with higher levels around 150 to 250 PAR for SPS. A 10 hour total photoperiod is fine. I would start conservatively, monitor coral response and algae growth, then increase intensity gradually if needed.

I use the My AI app and set moonlight at 0%, white at 20%, and the rest at 80% when I first connected it. This is a starting point based on a video from WWC. I left it there for some time during cycle, didn't really care about Par at that point. After cycling I picked up a number of corals and placed them at levels in the tank based on Par needs. Once in place, I started adjusting the individual colors to get a ratio that made the corals look good. Once the ratio is set, I then used Photon to get an idea of par numbers around the tank and compared it to the Par needs of the coral in the tank. I used the double finger method on the schedule to adjust intensity while retaining the ratio that worked for me. My par is measuring around 120 at the bottom center and 200 top center. Slight drops when moving out from center. My current numbers and what it looks like are:

RY- 85%
B- 100%

W- 5%
