Similarly to many recent negative reviews, my experience with Aquarium Specialty has been extremely disappointing.

I ordered a $2,500 filter roller that was advertised to ship within 2–3 days directly from the manufacturer. After more than 15 days with no shipment or tracking, I contacted the manufacturer myself. They confirmed that Aquarium Specialty had not even placed the order.

The manufacturer also stated they typically ship orders the same day, meaning the delay was not on their end.

When I followed up with Aquarium Specialty, they claimed they had placed the order the day after I purchased. This directly contradicts what the manufacturer told me. They continued to blame “manufacturer delays,” which appears to be inaccurate.

Communication was poor throughout. My calls and emails were not properly addressed, and I was repeatedly told they would “check with the manufacturer,” despite the manufacturer confirming no order existed.

Based on my experience and others I’ve seen, it seems they hold onto customer funds as long as possible before actually placing orders. In many cases, including mine, customers only receive movement on their order after initiating a credit card dispute.

Overall, this was a very frustrating and concerning experience. I would strongly recommend caution when ordering from Aquarium Specialty.

update : they shipped the product.

yeah dang these guys definitely suck. Placed an order back on the 30th. I haven't heard anything. I asked to cancel. Still haven't heard anything.

Hey people of AS in that black hole you seem to be in, can you please cancel this order?
