Hi guys I know this may sound like a really really stupid question but what should my aquarium smell like should it smell like the ocean I took a big whiff just and it smelt like sea water (I am aware that it’s a salt water fish tank) but it never smelt like this before I wouldn’t say it’s an unpleasant smell either and I can only smell it if I actually sniff it but it didn’t smell of anything prior water Params are fine also

Yes. It should smell like the ocean. If it starts to get a stronger odor like fish or skimmate try running some carbon.

Totally normal! A faint sea-like smell is fine for a saltwater tank, especially if your parameters are good. Just watch for any strong or rotten odors, that could mean something’s wrong.
