Hello all thanks for clicking!
New to the hobby and looking to start getting my feet wet here quickly!

today i added a few pieces of live rock to being the cycle while i finish my overall aquascape.
i have now 2 blue legged and 2 red legged hermits.
i added a black ocellaris clownfish. looking to get his partner next wednesday/thursday.
i also fed the crew and turned on my protein skimmer.

oh nice man my tanks been up for 2 months 21 days! ill have to do a update. i have fish and coral all healthy at the moment. how about yourself?

That's good to hear everything is doing well. My tank is doing well too so far, have one fish and some coral frags. My skimmer finally started working after a few weeks of

Couple pics since the tank hit a year old.
im battling hair algae, i got a urchin last week to help... he just eats my coralline.
8 fish. inverts. 50 or so different corals. colonies, frags. im moving in 3 weeks so thatll be the next update

Today I noticed my cardinalfish being a real big butt to my chromis. Especially the smaller one. And I think I'm gonna have to move my short tentacle goni. Or so I thought!

did you have an issue with surface film?
Yea you gotta block the intake grate to make water come in higher then the level of the bafel in the back that separates skimmer area and bio filter area. A fish store sold me a piece of plastic and I used to waterproof magnets from pnw custom to hold it in place. Also having a powerhead pointed at the surface / right at the surface of the water will help. Upgrading your return pump, the store I bought my tank from drilled the tanks return pump valve to allow for a 467gph return pump. Here's a pic
