Aqueon Tank Red Sea Reef Mat

I’m in the process of setting up a new tank, Aqueon 90 reef ready along with a trigger systems crystal series 30 sump.

I have 2 predicaments currently with this set up. If any one has a reef ready tank that they installed a Red Sea roller mat how did you do so? What fittings were required to get it to work.

Also with the trigger systems sump if I actually am able to hook up the roller mat the filter sock mounts are obviously not going to be used. What is a safe way to cut out the mounts to add extra space in the filtering chamber?
