Archaster Typicus and Holothuria Edulis in the same tank?

I'm planning on buying the above 2 critters to story sand in my 240l Aquarium. It's only 3 months and struggling with cyano and dinos. I read stars can prey on sea cucumbers. Is it a good idea to have those 2 in the same tank?

Yes, although sand sifting starfish can struggle in smaller tanks without a large enough sand bed. The two are compatible, though and shouldn't bother each other. If you want the best sand sifter, get a Holothuria Hilla (black sea cucumber). They're like going from a push mower to a jet turbine in terms of efficiency. Also note that they can grow fairly large (I have two that are almost 1' in length).

My sandbed Will be around 2" thick. Should be enuf? Some food lands on its since fishies are picky. Only cucumbers I van buy for now are Edulis :/

I know the black sea cucumbers have less risk from a toxicity standpoint than some of the other sea cucumbers, and in terms of daily sand volume they can quite literally outperform a half dozen other sea cucumbers.

Seems I really need one then :) Problem od, nobody has them :(

And they're amazing to watch in action. Unlike some of the other sea cucumbers, these ones will actively climb the glass to scour it for algae.
