Ill be honest, this build is for my high tech planted tank. But some of the best led light info I’ve found is on the reef forums. So I figured I’d ask you guys. This tank is a sumped 20g long, will be Injecting co2 and and nutrients. But I need a better light, I have some drivers laying around that can run ten 3w leds. However I’d love to be able to dim. I got to looking and the Arduino systems looks awesome. I would like to run 25-30 3w leds, And be able to dim individual channels. I plan on have a 10000k channel(10leds), a 6500k channel(10leds), and a full spectrum channel(a couple full spectrums, 450-480nm, and some 400-450nm(for color mainly).

My question is what power supply and driver should I use? I was thinking of using the meanwell led-700, it’s 2-54v and dimmable. I know I can run up to 14 led on it, but what’s the minimum number I could run? And what would be a cheap power supply to run three of these drivers?

Led specs,
3.2-3.4 forward voltage
700ma current.

https://www.ledsupply.com/power-supplies/mean-well-lrs-enclosed

A fairly cheap source of Meanwell ps's
Spec sheet states min V-out I believe..but it's probably like 1 diode's worth..
Remember you "lose" about 3V w/ the LDD's.
48V ps max out is 44-45V

3.4 x 10 = 34V +3 = 37V ps needed..
Note some of the Meanwells have an adjustable (slightly) voltage..

Violets tend to have higher V(f)'s than yor whites and blues... and some will last a lot longer at lower currents than 700mA..
May want a separate channel for them.

Cheap "aduino-like" controller..

TC-421 does "wireless"
Crude software but functional and more "point" programming than many DIY aduino stuff..

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
