Are anemones hardy?

Had my tank up 2 months and put an RBTA in it. Parameters ran fairly stable for those two months. After 2 months, it split. Another 3 months later, more splitting. I started with 1 6 months ago, and now have 5. They ARE hardy. But, yes, I subscribe to the “stability” over “age” thinking.

I'd argue they weren't splitting over being happy. By the end your tank matured and they survived.

My 2 nems have turned into 9, however the smallest is probably 8" across.

Bubble tip anemones are definitely not hardy despite all of the answers here claiming they are. They require very stable parameters and any swings can take them out in a flash. They are however amazing growers and multiply quick under stable parameters. The hardiness varies from species to species but I can say the long tentacle anemone has been the most hardy NEM I've ever owned. I got into saltwater about 4-5 years ago and started with a 10 gallon AIO tank and added the long tentacle anemone with a couple clownfish right away just after the tank cycled. It thrived under inadequate lighting, it has thrived under heavy parameter fluctuations and different levels of flow. It has survived having over half of its tentacles ripped off from my power head and fully healed in a matter of weeks. It has survived 4 different tank upgrades with different parameters. It has survived a total tank crash being the sole survivor.
It has gone many months without a single target feeding when I was neglecting my tank. Typically I'll give it a fish or shrimp chunk every few weeks. Also worth noting it has survived against abuse from different fish/shrimp. My pistol shrimp in my first tank would constantly dig around it and clip bits of tentacles off, no problem for the LTA. Also have never had a coral die from a LTA touching them. Not saying they can't kill other corals, just saying I've never had a coral die from making contact with my LTA.
