Starting to hit the ugly phase.

Added a royal gramma and mccosker's flasher wrasse (from dr reefs). Unfortunately, the carpenter's flasher wrasse arrived DOA. I have another order from dr reefs being QT'd that should arrive in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, everything makes it this time. I really need to setup my own fish QT.

Also, my first batch of corals should be finished QT in a week. Glad I setup the coral QT. I've already killed some aptiasia off a frag.

Finally, I added an auto feeder (Fish Nosh) to prep for our summer vacation. The fish are already used to the feed times.

LOL - yeah lots of updates but I haven't been keeping this thread updated ;). Thanks for asking and reminding me to update the thread.

Here's a semi recent pic:

Unfortunately, I was away for 3 weeks and got hit with a huge GHA outbreak while I was gone. I'm trying to clean it up manually right now. While I was doing the cleaning, I was leaving the lid off since it is a pain to put on and off. My flasher wrasse decided to jump ship while we weren't home :loudly-crying-face:

I'm also having a hard time keeping euphyllias. Not sure what the issue is. My parameters are generally inline (other than my GHA issue). I'm thinking of doing an ICP test to see if there is something up with my water.

glad i sparked the fire back for you!

i am thinking of perhaps getting this tank when i return to the hobby. either that or a 60G cube. i already have the 80/20 stand for a 60G buuuuuut i could get additional pieces for a 112G (if i can source just the tank)

Update after another year...the tank has stabilized and doing well. All corals are growing well. I'm very happy with how it's come along in the last 2 years.

The gsp back wall is cool!
Very nice system!
If you don't like looking at the waterline use 1.5" black caulking tape. I use it on all 3 ext's I run and it blends in well with the black silicone.
My current ext 112 just got water.

Wow nice! Impressive progress.

I have a 112 on order now also! How long did it take you to get? Do you like the dimensions?

I don't mind the waterline, but that's a great idea. I'll keep it mind. I might try it to see. Thanks.

Congrats! You'll love it! I got mine relatively quickly, I think it was only a few weeks. I ordered it through a LFS. I love the dimensions. It's perfect for my location. I have it in my living room and I have great viewing angles from 3 directions.

The only issue was that it took a while to dial in the proper flow. I wanted to keep the views unobstructed so my power heads are on the back wall. I have one spot where I get a bit of cyano but it's easy to control by blasting it with a turkey baster every now and then.

I assumed it would be a bit difficult with flow. I have 2 mp40s (planning for back wall placement) and the return is a varios 8 which I will probably get some random flow generators on and run it at like 50 percent. Think that will be sufficient? Pretty excited to get the fish a bigger home.

It will be enough. The trick is to get enough flow to the front without over powering the corals near the back. In case it helps, I have one of the returns on each side pointed up along the side walls to agitate the surface. The other return on each side is pointed down along the back wall to get flow on the back wall.
