Arizona reefers...

A friend and I will be flying into Phoenix next weekend for the ama supercross series and we were wanting to check out the local reefing scene while in town... Does anybody have any recommendations of any LFS we should hit or places we shouldn't miss?

There are several. Depending on where your staying would depend on where to go. Phoenix isn’t a small city so they are spread out all over.

Since the supercross is in Glendale I would say these stores are easiest to visit.
Kona Reef in Surprise
Kona Reef in Phoenix
LE Corals in Phoenix (really, really close to Sky Harbor airport)
Ocean Floor in Phoenix (easy to stop at and visit on the way to Glendale from the airport)

Further away but worth the visit:
Artistic Aquariums in Gilbert
Reef Monsters in Mesa

All the above show up on google maps so you can use it to find what you like.

I’ve been to every store in the Phoenix area and the above are the highlight locations. As an out of town visiter I wouldn’t bother with any others.

Glendale yes but willing to travel.. we got a rental car and nothing but a few days time to burn! Thank you for the information!

There are folks that run reefing businesses out of their homes too but I’m not sure who might or might not be interested in showing off.

On Facebook there is the Arizona Reef and Frag group too.
