I am wondering if anyone has purchased a tank from artfully acrylic. Right now i have a standard 65g reef 36x18x24 but don't like it being up stairs and don't like the height of it. Found that artfully acrylic is having a sale on a 50g 36x18x18 acrylic tank RR. I would want mine just a standard tank not drilled to drill in my own synergy overflow. Has anyone had experience with there build quality and products? Lastly, tank i have now is glass, this would be acrylic and loss of about 15 gallons.. Good or bad for loss of water and acrylic or woudl this amount of water volume loss be minimal?

thanks,

I live local to them. I've seen their acrylic work and it is first class. Excellent people too.

i know acrylic can scratch easier than glass but do you feel acrylic has more benefits (minus scratching)? also, going from a 65g to 50g water volume, would that just be dumb idea and would there be a significant differance in swings?

It wouldn't be a significant change going from 65 to 50g. You can probably make some of that with a slightly bigger sump. I personally wouldn't go for an acrylic tank unless it's a large tank but that's just me. I would probably scratch it up the first day.

Agree. Decided to get with LFS and trying to get a planet aquariums tank quoted.
Appreciate the advice

Good decision! Both of my tanks are custom from Planet. I would also look into doing a 16" synergy reef overflow. They don't take up much space inside and Planet will pre drill the holes and provide the overflow if you want.
