I had this and a problem with bristle worms, i used flatworm killer and it does the job well. It wont kill them but they all come out of the rock for easy removal. Then do a massive water change and run carbon.

I don't like adding chemicals to my tanks other than supplements

Harlequin shrimp are awesomem id put him in the display and let him work. Then you get to watch him as they are quite the unique character
