Astrea Snails Clean Each Other?

So I have had various Astrea snails in my tank.

One has outlived all the rest (a question in itself.)

So for while it was a lonesome soul, its shell had gotten sort of fuzzy.

Added three new Astrea friends, and sure enough, old lonesome's shell is now as clean as the 3 new Astrea friends.

Can't tell them apart.

So they must know about each other; did not randomly clean lonesome's shell by just running into each other.

Maybe grooming each other is part of the Astrea snail mating ritual. :oops:

I guess covering the tank at night might have other benefits. :rolleyes:

Golly gee, snails are people too. ;)

All sorts of monkeys, apes, and hominids groom each other.

In a bath or a shower. I've washed a back or two. :rolleyes:
