At What Point Do You Commit to Glueing?

Hello all

I was just curious….. when you get a new frag of LPS or SPS at what point do you commit to glue down? I usually dip them and place them loose on the rockwork where I’d like to place them for a few days to see if they’re happy or not. If not, I’ll move them and repeat the whole process until I’m sure they’re happy. If the mushrooms start to move off the plug I know they’re going to release and drift so I try to move them to a more comfortable spot. If the Acans and Zoas aren’t opening I’ll find a different spot for them too. Obviously the SPS has to be close to the lights so there isn’t much play in where you can move them. Lastly, do you remove the frag plugs, trim them with a cutter or leave them intact when placing? Thanks for your input.

I dip and QT all my corals for a few months so I don't kill my fish with disease hitchhikers. Since they get used to my frag tank, I give them a few weeks after they appear happy in the main display before I glue. I used to remove them from the plugs, but now I just trim the round edges off to make the plug look more like rock.
