ATI fixture distance from water?

How many inches array you guys running these ATI fixtures from the water line. I have a 6x24watt over a 34 gal at 6"off the water line. My tank is 18" deep is it too close? My chalice on the sand bed don't have the color they used to. Bulbs are (4) blue+,(1)coral +,(1) actinic.

I run mine 9 inches off the water and have great color. I have a 6x24, my tank is also 18 inches deep

I run mine 8 inches above water but i did run it 11 inches when i first got it and lowered inch a week till vorals were used to it. Bulb combo looks really good.

How many hrs are you guys running them? I'm running 7.5 hrs full and 8.5 hrs dusk to dawn.

~7 inches I run for 8.5-9 hrs I have the 8 bulb in 6 foot

I have my 6x24" about 10" off from the water for 8 hours. Tank is 24" deep. I have no SPS in the tank save for a monti cap. Everything else is pretty much LPS. Even at the bottom of the tank, I still have a few pieces that prefer to be in the shade of an overhang. They lose some color when I put them in direct light. These ATI fixtures really do put out a killer amount of light!
