Just picked up an ati 48" 8 bulb. Wondering if it's ok to not use the acrylic bulb protector with a 2-3ft mounting height, or if I should still worry about trashing the reflectors with salt spray. Ati said to leave it in. Thoughts?

My t5s have some spray on them. Vinegar cleans it well it enough. I use glass tops and still get salt on them overtime from messing with the tank. My fixtures were 9nly 75-100$ on ebay though. The plant grow ones.. their cheap enpugh that if they get realllly bad ill buy a new one. Or a new reflector for it.

If you really want an acrylic cover.. i suppose i could have bought the acrylic myself at lows and made door that swings open an closed to protect mine.
