Had 1525 alarm notifications yesterday for my atk. I don’t know if my sump level is staying stable or if it’s a programming issue but it’s driving me crazy. The water level keeps passing the second optical sensor. I have the back siphon part on my fill line above water.

I'm going to defer to someone with specific Neptune ATK experience if it is pre-generated commands that you did not write. I only know that one outlet, one defer rule. It may be different for the ATK...

Will the pump shut off after 5 minutes? I have this issue too. My pump has run dry twice and burned out.

I don't know... the pump is shutting off when the water level hits the second optical sensor then goes crazy with notifications until water has evaporated below that sensor. today by 5Am i had over 700 notifications... kinda wishing i went with the tunze 3155

How did you write the code for notifications? We need to see that. If the pump is performing its job and functioning properly but the notifications are incessant then it is an issue with how you wrote your code for the notifications.

1. You can have 2 defer, one for on, one for off.

2. That is the default ATK code is it not?

what have you changed?

I would,

Decrease the defer on to 1 second

Increase defer off to 6 seconds

your ato fills to fast, pump to large or return chamber to small.

When the water is hitting the top sensor, does the bottom sensor show as closed?

When the pump runs, is there water coming out of the siphon break?

Not 100% sure. i know that if the water level is below bottom sensor it will fill until it hits sensor 2. Water is coming out of hole in siphon break.

Check to see that both optical sensor plugs are pressed firmly into the FMM.

If that doesn't work, go to the FMM page from the Modules page, click on Configure, and make sure that the two OS ports are set to Optical Sensor with Use auto detection unchecked.

You could also try updating the FMM firmware from the same Modules page.

Make sure that your anti-siphon device is actually working properly.

If none of this helps, your low level OS could be going bad.

Just got home from work and was looking at everything. Your first suggestion is what it was... sensor 1 came unplugged somehow from the fmm. I feel like an idiot. Sorry for waisting everyone’s time on this.

Don't. Mine sent me 700 notifications too for the exact same reason. I spent alot of time tuning the When statement on mine too, because my tank is massive, and 5 minutes didn't cut it.

I'm sure no one here minds, we are just happy you fixed it.

Sorry for wasting everyone’s time on this.

Not at all, it's actually a fairly common cause of the behavior you described. You really have to push those plugs in firmly so they're well seated. :)

The errors are being generated by the email alarm - i think the default ATK code adds a line which says something like “if the high sensor is closed (i.e. covered with water), send an alarm”. Which makes sense because it shouldn’t be above that line if the ATK is operating properly. Since your first sensor wasn’t fully plugged in, the FMM never registered that it was covered in water, which would in turn stop the pump. The ATK pump only stopped when the high sensor was covered, which in turn triggered the email alarm.

Click on the gear icon next to the email alarm switch in your dashboard - you can modify/remove the high sensor warning there

For future use: keep the sensors clean monthly because sometimes they’ll cloud over and read closed all the time. I set up a calendar event to clean them monthly after that happened to me, especially if you’re using kalk in ato reservoir
