Saddle valve however I would go through the blue line. The pipe will leach copper into the water I would think and copper going into your Ro will shorten the life of the filter if it will even take it out.

Good point! Can you saddle valve the blue plastic lines? Do they crack?

Plastic I would just cut and put a T or Y on it. A saddle valve is probably not going to go tight enough. They are made for pipes pvc or copper.

If your ATO doesn't shut off it doesn't matter what size the container is. If your running your RO/DI to the bucket then 5gal should be fine. You can get an alarm that will go off if it gets wet. If you have a controller you can have it shut your ATO off.

Got my barrel tender v2 runnin! Should work great. I installed a float valve just in case the machine malfunction‘s I might need to get an adjustable arm because it might shut off the water supply before the machine turns off itself . doing a test now.
