I currently acquired a Avast ATO and I am having some problems with it. I had it set up on a shelf above my sump but the problem with that is when the ATO shut off the kalk just kept siphoning out of the bucket and into the sump. Now I have it set up next to the sump and I can get the ATO to work if I unplug the hose from the controller and then plug it back in. It will come on and pump kalk to the sump and turn off when it is supposed to but it won't automatically turn on when the water level gets low again? I have to manually unplug the hose and plug it in again to trick the ATO. Is it a problem to have the ATO control below the sensor? What do I have set up incorrectly?

Is your ATO/kalk reservoir higher than the water water level in your sump?

Right now it isn't, when I had it set up before it was on a shelf over the sump and when the ATO turned off it just continued to siphon into the sump.

So now your problem is that it doesn't kick on with it next to the stand?

I have heard of this problem with every top off but never experienced it myself... How I always set mine up is put the resi next to sump and place the pump on a shelf above the water level of both... Like this and never had a problem....

Just checking in to see if you got this figured out. Sometimes it's tough to link email to forum names :)
