ATO water survey

I am wonder how often or if ever others check their ATO reserve for TDS. I ask only because twice this last year i found my reserve to contaminated or containing extremely high TDS.

My RODI unit has an inline tds, I check it each time I fire it up. ATO Reservoir is cleaned with vinegar and water every two weeks. I don't check it after I fill it.

Were you afraid of some film or algae build up inside the reserve/bucket?

Not really as I've never had a problem before, but also never had an ATO reservoir like that on the redsea reefer 525. It's basically a small tank sitting on top of the sump. So with the open top I just decided to keep it clean.

I can't see it typically being useful to check it after you make it, unless you are concerned about weird things like cats peeing into it.
