Should I auto top off my saltwater DT with fresh for saltwater? No sump just canister filter

You can lose salt through creep, splashes, etc. Check salt levels weekly and add fresh/salt as needed

Always use fresh water when topping off with an ato! Only time I use saltwater is if I am wanting to raise my salinity to a certain amount, then I will use salt

As water evaporates the salt in the water does not and it causes the salinity levels to creep up. That’s why fresh water used for top offs.

Like others said, top off with Fresh RODI Water. Topping off with Salt is only to increase salinity.
