Hey fellow reefers,

Looking to setup up my awc today.
The limitations I have means I can only have two tanks of water under a cabinet one for fresh water and one for seawater.

I was going to run my saltwater waste water out or the house through a nearby unused built in ac unit. Small tank so I will only be changing around 5 gallon every 10 days.

Does anyone see a problem with running the line outside my house? I live in New England so cold winters.

Thanks for any help

How are you going to keep it from freezing?
So this was my concern..... there is not going to be water occupying the tube the whole time just during wc and this I assume will be quick enough not to freeze. Now for the bit of inevitable water left in tube after an awc I'm not sure. Insulation around the tube?

Anyone from mass done this before?

How big is the drain tube? If it’s small, it’ll freeze up for sure over time. If it’s big, it’ll let cold air in, but so do other exhaust vents from a house. Where will the water go once it goes outside? In winter, it will for sure start to pool up and start creating icicles where it hangs.

**** don't know why I overlooked this. Was my plan the whole time. Hmmm now I have to rethink
