I am using ESV 2 part and was wondering if this would be an acceptable product to use as sort of a balling method or part C? ESV is great at replenishing elements that get pushed down when we correct elevated salinity due to 2 part. Not so great at replenishing due to consumption. I read one of RHFs replies and this is what he had said. So wondering if these products are worth using. The plus has all that of the regular but adds carbon dosing. Not sure if I would want to try that.

ESV two part needs no part C and would not benefit from it. The exact ingredients in Balling Part C are put into one of the two parts of the ESV two part.

Balling Part C is never to be used as a trace element supplement because it has the wrong composition, but other materials designed to be trace element supplements may be fine to use along with the ESV two part.

The ESV Transition Elements is a great choice to use along with their 2 part. It is designed to replenish elements that deplete fast (Fe,Zn,Mn), to provide them between water changes.

Unless you have elevated nitrate, and want to lower it, I would suggest the non plus version as a start.

I was confused. It was actually AF mineral salt that you had referenced saying would help with issue 2 and that part C would not. My apologies. So is there a trace element product that you recommend to help with issue 2?

I don’t have a specific preference, but Tropic Marin has some trace element additives that are likely a good choice.
