We're stayin at my parents until we can relocate from the sandy disaster and this morning when we woke up there was a juvenile bald eagle in a tree in our back yard, my wife said its the third time she's seen it. Very exciting and I felt I should share. Sorry for the poor quality photos I don't have a good camera

Weirdly enough my vet received an adult bald eagle the other day. She was hit by a car. Last I heard she was in critical condition. But she was alive, which counts for a lot.

I don't think I have ever seen a bald eagle out in nature, so I am quite envious of you. Very awesome.

I read somewhere they can be very mean. Very cool to see in your back yard.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC

They are amazing creatures. Growing up I lived about a mile from a large river that bald eagles caught fish from. I'd see them every so often. Beautiful birds.

At first I was wondering why the eagle was hanging on the brand side-ways... then I realized the pictures need to be rotated 90 degree LOL!

We have lots of Bald Eagles around my lake cabin in Northern Minnesota. I have had a chance to watch them around their nest, circle different areas as well as even seen them dive to the lake and catch fish that I would like to eat... They are very majestic birds and are beautiful to watch.

One really cool thing, or not so cool to the small dog owners... One of my dad's friends had an eagle's nest in his back yard. A heavy storm blew down the tree with the nest so he went to check it out. He found what you would expect, a nest and some contents of items they have eaten for food. What he didn't expect to find was a collection of small dog collars with tags still attached. Hopefully this makes owners think twice before letting their little ball of fur out in their back yard without a leash... Bald Eagles are hunters at heart and a small dog eats as well as a small rabbit so they do not discriminate if they are looking for food.

That's so cool to see one in the back yard. I've seen one out hunting before but couldn't see it very good. Thanks for sharing.

The small dogs is a great thing to bring up. We have large Red Tail's that live on our property and have always known not to let a small puppy outside alone. I have seen them carry off very large squirrels, fish, snakes. Pretty much anything they can carry!!
One Halloween night, my daughter and I were outside. She had a shiny barrette in her hair and an owl swooped down and tried to grab it!!

Update time! We now have two very large bald eagles. Absolutely incredible. The larger one seems to be teaching the other how to fish. As its always the one diving in the lake while the other one watches
