I think the "more neon green" one gets has to do with water parameters. Most of them are very bright. Mine practically glows in the dark. LOL.

Here it is under a 14k Phoenix MH

Nice one!!! I'm thinking about taking the leap into SPS, and read that the slimmer was a good starting coral for that. Just didn't know if there was more than one strain out there, to chose from.

Pretty sure it's all the same species, but coloration will vary depending on parameters, lighting, & flow. It is a great beginner SPS coral and grows like a weed in established tanks. I end up fragging mine monthly to keep it under control.

+1. It is a great beginner sps. I got my piece about 3 years ago as a 1" frag. Grew it into a 12" tall by 8"wide colony. Fragged it alot and gave the rest of the colony away except for another 1" frag. That was just over a year ago and the picture above is from just a few days ago. It is at least 12" tall and about 10" wide now. The only sps I found that grows faster is the chili pepper monti behind it in that picture. Lol

not to be mean, but are these corals called slimmers or slimers?
