Personally I think barcode gem tangs are less attractive than standard gem tangs so I'd pay nothing for it. Imo it's a situation where we get into collecting aberrant baseball cards just because they might have value eventually that is greater than current which is strange to me when buying a pet. The "value" is probably good at anything under 1.5k probably based on the street value of that particular gem tanf aberration, but at the end of the day it comes down to what it's worth to you.

Depends on where you’re buying from. No local hobbyist is selling “fully QT” fish that have TRULY gone through a rigorous QT process and that size for cheap.

For reference, Doctor Reef’s Quarantined fish has this for their QT process:
-2 weeks of therapeutic copper in a new sterilized tank.
-Observation in a new tank for 2-4 weeks while dosing Prazipro and Metroplex every 3-5 days.
-Fish food is soaked in Bendazole and Metronidazole as well for further protection.

THIS is what I would consider “fully QT”, and I doubt a local hobbyist is doing that cheaply, most likely not at all.

Dr. Reef’s quarantined Gem Tang that’s ~2.5-4in and has been fully quarantined sells for $699.
