This is our deskmate florida peninsula. I really want to go bare bottom but idk how well it'll look with the bright orange bottom. I don't think I can fit a piece of black acrylic inside because of the euro bracing.
What do you guys think?

I like the natural look of sand. And I guess it also depends on what kind of fish you get Gobe and pistol shrimps I guess we’ll be out of the question. Without sand.

I like BB on all of my tanks (CLEAN sand looks better, but I like the ease of maintenance in a BB tank). That being said, I don't think I could look at the orange bottom....it pulls your eye away from what you are trying to display.

I have both.

Bare bottoms are good for when you need a really high flow across the whole tank - mainly when you go for an SPS dominant tank.

But I like the visual appeal of sand better, and it allows you to keep certain fish that would otherwise won’t have their natural habitat.

Personally, with a bright orange bottom - I wouldn’t think twice and cover it with sand.

Without sand your livestock choices are limited, no wrasses, and you are even eliminating certain gobies and inverts like sea cukes….
less glass scratching and impeller wear at first or until urchins make “ sand” anyway ….

Bare bottom is a lil less maintenance, but maybe not as much as you imagine
