I am going for bare bottom with King starboard.

I have couple of questions:

How do I glue starboard on glass? Seems like aquarium grade silicone is not an option.

Will my short spine black sea urchin shred my starboard on bottom? It definitely shred my live rock for sure.

Nothing adheres to Starboard. I did silicone mine down and it held enough to not float until I got the rock in. The weight and silicone did create a seal to keep stuff from going under it too badly. No urchin experience for me.

silicone around the edges of the starboard. Aquascape with the rocks to hold the starboard down then fill with water. The main reason people do this is to create a seal to keep junk from collecting between the starboard and the bottom glass. Sorry no experience with urchins.

Thanks. How long shall I wait for silicone to cure? It’s live tank I already started taking sand out for last two weeks. I didn’t want to shock the system by taking all sand at once. I have temp tank to hold livestock and corals . I plan on using old water and off course all live rock in temp tank.

Based on my experience I wouldn’t keep urchin in bare bottom tank with starboard as it scratched(scored a line) starboard.

Do you need to factor in some expansion of the material when it gets wet?
