I've had the fish for about 2 months now and it eats good and isnt acting weird but noticed this spot show up about 3 days ago. Not to sure what it is so looking for advice. Sorry for the bad picture but it doesnt like the camera lol. It seems to be internal with no bump or anything. Thanks for the help

It looks like a scrape or injury. I would just keep an eye on it. Let us know if it starts getting larger or you start to notice any redness.

Injury related hematoma perhaps.

Is it red at all?

It looks black in pic. Maybe try to upload some pics under white light.

How long have you had the fish?

Did you QT?

Is the spot worsening?

It could be something bacterial, if you have a QT you could move the fish over and start antibiotics.

So the spot has gotten very bad now but the fish is still eating fine and acting fine. I have been trying to catch him for a couple days now with no luck I have a at set up ready to go. Just hoping I can catch him before it's to late

I had the same thing happen to my borbonius and lost him despite aggressive antibiotic treatment-get it out to a qt tank and treat immediately. It’s an infected wound and needs to be treated now.
