BBU frag growing in my halide tank. I have a bigger colony in my frag tank but it isn’t getting the right light so colors are off.

I know Adam does a amazing job on his site with photography but it would be cool to see what these corals look like out in everyone's tank and also hopefully to see some nice big colony's of some of his pieces. Big small post them all !

No sir, I do believe this is actually exactly what he had in mind! Good looking colony Matt. Blast that guy with light and those growth tips become neon yellow. It’s just lovely.

My most recent pack theme was “things I can’t kill.” Once I prove that I can grow acros the theme will be “Orange and Red Things”. I want this bad boy in that pack.

You seem like you grow colonies from frags pretty well, so I've been thinkings. What is your mortality rate? Say you take in a frag pack of 10 acros. Let's say they're from BattleCorals so we know they're starting from a good place health wise. How many of them are you usually going to be able to get to colony size?

I would say 70 percent. Ive been having issues with RTN/STN that affects everything in my tank from montis to acros. Ive not been able to figure it out. I will go months with no problems and then loose part of or sometimes a whole colony. Sometimes one sometimes two. One thing I noticed it last time it happened I had done a bunch of rearranging in my tank and fragging. I just lost a cherry bomb piece. Which was frustrating I had it 2 years and it did nothing and then finally started taking off grew 4 3 inch branches in last couple months and then STN on me blah lol. This was last week. So theres the way looong answer to question on average id say about 70 percent of the frags I get. The first week or two is always touchy with frags in my tank also. Even when they come in looking great its not a shock to come in and see them STN its just part of having a reef tank I tell myself and If you buy from Adam you always get waaay more than you've spent which in the back of your mind helps when you come down and see that beautiful frags flesh just whisping away into the water. For me it seems 2 weeks is the finish line once past that there off to the races. Some just sit though, or grow and inch and stall LOL So maybe I should change it to 60 percent to colony and 70 percent survival lol

excellent does "blueberry lemon" ring any bells.

like the old Miyagi tort structurally but yellow where the Miyagi is typically green and shade more blue than purple as well.
