Here are the girls hard at work. If you look closely At the cell you can see the Nectar. It won’t become honey until the bees evaporate the moisture and put a wax cap on it.

Thanks @Medic58. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a swarm of bees anywhere. I assume they would be buzzing loud enough to noice? I live “in town” but I’m surrounded by woods on 3 sides for a few miles. I saw where you’re in Chicago, I’m 5 hours south about 15 minutes from St Louis on the IL side so hi neighbor!

Oh yes you will hear them. So are you Carbondale or close to it. Hi from Chicago. Get your box And suit ready there should be swarms by you soon.

No boxes or suits for me, just flowers for them to stop at on their way to wherever. I’ll let them know there’s nice bee boxes in Chicago :)

Sorry I've been off the forum for a while. I currently have 13 hives that I manage. Caught 6 swarms this year and passed the rest to friends. March and April are super busy for swarm season him Texas. Think next year I'm going to start making Nucs from my swarm catches and sell them.
