Hi im about to go to college and I’m wanting to try to build a small reef tank in my dorm room. I’ve done a large tank with corals before but i’ve never done a biocube and i was wondering if anyone had any tips for setting the biocube up. The thing im struggling with the most is what to put in the back filtering area. Anything helps!

Hi thanks for replying. What all do you have in your media basket?
Just the filter floss, nothing else. I tossed a bag of activated charcoal in there once. The media basket is nice because it directs the flow into the basket. Seems to have better filtration and I use a lot less filter floss with the setup.

Btw I just now installed a random flow nozzle on the return, works well.
