I recently got back from my trip to belize with my girlfriend. Belize's reef inspired me to spend more time on my tank husbandry(hours per day lol). We started our trip off in Belize City, which is not that great besides the touristy stuff. We went ziplining, cave tubing, and the mayan ruins. The third day we took a boat ride to San Pedro island where the real fun began! We got to dive the reefs with turtles and sharks. We also got to spear lobster while we were exploring the reef! If anyone wants a "cheaper" place to dive (due to it being closer, geographically), i highly recommend diving Belize.
One month prior to our trip my tank was not doing so well. I was battling coral pests, gha, cyano, dinos, and ich (killed my favorite fish, Achilles). We moved to Oceanside from Pacific beach so i had a chance to rebuild the tank. I left the rock and corals in dark buckets for three days which took care of certain things, then i went to work on the build. With some rock that i had cooking, i re-aquascaped the tank and added new sand/water. The tank has been up and running for about two months and i couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I lost some corals and fish during the process (my high end stuff of course), but luckily we have MACNA just around the corner. Here is how the tank sits today, enjoy!
