best 400 watt bulb?

good point. that is a down side to the raidium.

i did like the xm 20 quite a bit to but was not a fan of the growth rates.

YEAH Im at the point Im looking for growth...I just sold my 400watt radiums because the coralvue ballast did not do them justice...I am currently running 20k reeflux but looking for a better growth bulb...

for color 400w-in this order
reeflux 12k > radium 20k > xm 20k > reeflux 20k

for growth-in this order
giesemann megachrome 14.5k > ushio 14k > reeflux 10k

never tried xm 10k-

interested in elos 20k Abyss at this time-

20k radium on pfo hqi still unbeatable in my book-except the heat-otherwise I would still be burning them

Best PAR from what I have read from the technical comparison is the XM's. I have run the Ushio 10's and they are close, but are tad under the XM's.

XM 20K's perform really poorly on the PFO's, but a XM 10K will produce 25-30% more PAR than a 20K Radium bulb with your PFO ballast easily.
