When it comes to sump options; how many of you folks are purchasing fabricated sumps with sock overflows and refugiums. Those out there that think DIY sumps are the only way to go; I want to hear from you also!!

help me decide!!

I got one custom made from Melev's reef and am very happy with it. It’s nice to be able to have it made to fit your needs, and they can be a little wider unlike taking a standard tank and adding baffles.

It would be nice to fit as much sump as possible under my forty breeder! Any chance you have pictures you would not mind sharing what a nice customer job looks like?!

Unless I had space limitations or an odd shape I would always build my own out of a standard AGA glass aquarium. They are very inexpensive, often $1 a gallon new, and come in a veraiety of sizes and shapes. I have a 30 long sump under my 100G and have plenty of room for other stuff in the stand still. I don't think I have $40 in my sump, baffles, refugium, silicone, pH probe holder for the calcium reactor and all.
