Hi guys

I’ve been in the reef hobby for just over 5 years and only recently purchased a new aquarium with a sump. For years I have run sumpless.

My question is there are so many choices when it comes to adding denitrification bricks/balls and other media to your sump. What’s the general consensus out there today? Which products deliver solid results?

I’m already running filter floss, socks, and a skimmer.

Much appreciated

You can use whatever media you want. I just added some extra rock to my sump, because I had it on hand.

For a actual denitrification zone, you should probably look for a reactor and small pump to control the flow going through it.

Search for "donovan's nitrite destroyer" for a simple DIY build

Thank you all for your responses. I've ordered the Brightwell bricks and some Microbacter to get them going. Much Appreciated.
