I'm moving soon, and decided to turn my 180 into a reef. I've been using the Ecotech radion on my 40 breeder now, and its good.

I'm debating on LED's or halides. Is anyone having good coral growth in a large tank with any certain LEDs? I don't want to deal with a chiller, so otherwise I might go with 3x150w halides. I'm hoping on a tank that size it wouldn't heat the water too much..

thoughts?

Are you looking for pendants or something to mount inside the hood? DIY?

Also heat should not be a problem either way using a nice fan to blow across the sump! :D

if you do go mh i run 3 250w on my 180 in combo with 6 4inch fans with little to no heat issues
