Well the honeymoon phase of owning a reef tank came and went very quickly thanks to a flipper magnet cleaner gone rogue. A grain or sand or a tiny snail shell must have gotten stuck and scratched the absolute hell out of the right side of my tank before I noticed it. Even scratched the front panel albeit less so, thank god. I’ve been sickened over it even though I know logically that doesn’t help anything.
I am running two popbloom RL90s that came with the tank. They are very Kessil-like with lots of shimmer. I got to wondering if a soft blanket of light (maybe radion with diffuser or Stratton X) would reflect the scratches less? I have a 36x24” fwiw.
Do you think the lights would meaningfully alter the appearance of the scratches? If so what lights do you recommend?
If not, any advice from other OCD reefers on how to cope with this and not let it ruin the fun? Thanks in advance!
