Best option for splash guard

I am building a DIY fixture and need to make a splash guard. I can get glass cut at lowes as my cheapest option but then I have to drill it. Plexiglass is probably next cheapest. One question I have is will Any material affect my spectrum? I am using some violet 420nm +or - so I think this is above the range that gets blocked out.

Thoughts?

I'm using the glass from Lowes for the top of my aquarium and it doesn't seem to have any affect on my LED's. I have a reefbreeders photon32 and it's full spectrum. As far as I can tell everything is getting through and corals are growing.

As long as it is clear and not tinted or coated, it will allow the full spectrum through. On my DIY, I needed 2 pieces 12"x24" I picked up some lexan from Home Depot it was a lot more expensive than I wanted to spend but I didn't have the immediate resource to cut a bigger piece down to size. but is is crystal clear and looks great.

Use Starfire glass or Acrylic. Don't use plastic, it doesn't stand up to heat and will discolor.
