Best placement?

Hey guys – I'm looking for some advice!
About six months ago I bought the tiniest piece ever of a little coral blob.
Now that it is growing I have figured out that it is a hammer coral! It's about tripled in size!
So far it has been attached to the frag and the frag is placed in my sand bed. I don't know much about hammer corals. Are they happier on the sand or should I move them up should I make the frag base smaller? What happens when he gets bigger than the frag?

Lolol i mean if it tripled its size leave it were it is, you could always move it i would keep it in the sand for now tho

I would put him on some rock, but there is no harm in leaving him on the sandbed. And nothing will happen when he outgrows the plug. Except for if he is in the sand bed and it gets bigger it won't have anything to really grab on to.
