i've had a flame angel for almost 2 years now with only one incidence that involved a beautiful elegance coral becoming the most expensive piece of fish food i've ever bought. i also have a 60 gallon, and while he's no problem with coral he is a *****. really doesn't like the other fish that are in the tank (wrasses most of all). i'm upgrading to a 150 and plan on trying to add a coral beauty or a red stripe. i also think that if you keep them well fed they will leave the corals alone (unless you have my flame and an elegance coral..i'm still kind of bitter). good luck!

Our flame angel has never touched the coral that I can see. But, she is best buds with a big yellow tang that keeps her in check. They swim together all day long....

I've had a Flame Angel for three years and it's never picked at corals or zoas. It is more like a Mandarin in that it hunts copepods all day long. It never stops moving and covers the whole tank. It is certainly a loner and doesn't interact with any of the other fish. I've seen it chasing the dominant Blue-Green Chromis a few times, which is twice as large as it is. It sure is a tough little fish. When I first put it in the Powder Blue didn't like it, but it couldn't catch it either. I'm so glad that all my fish get along great.
