Oh, yea, FWIW, I have a Reef Octopus auto cleaner and it works great!
Oh now you chime in after I ordered a new pump. [emoji14] Just kidding. I was leaning towards the Avast Marine one but open to the Reef Octopus because well... I have a reef octopus skimmer.

How long have you had it now? What do you think of the build quality? Any complaints?

I have had it for about 3 months now. I think the build quality is good but it is the only one I have ever had. I ordered it because I have a Reef Octopus SRO 2000 ext and I figured I would stick with the brand. I have no complaints with it. I was so used to cleaning the cup every 5 days and now I can only go about a month before I have to take it off and clean it but that is just my own hangup with seeing such a dirty cup.

Oh, I do have one complaint, I don't like that I have to take the power cord out of where it is run to clean it. I wish it unplugged at the lid as well. Still it is better than having to clean the neck so often.

Thank you sir for the feedback. If Vertex can't get a replacement motor in a reasonable timeline, I may look into the Reef Octopus one.

Whichever one I get, I think I'll be modding the cable with a quick disconnect to circumvent the lack of foresight by the manufacturers in adding one.
