Best skimmer for approx 65 gallons...

I will be setting up a 40BR with 30 sump and was considering a few different options for skimmers. If you've had experience with any of these I could use some recommendations....
Super Reef Octopus XP1000 Space Saver SRO-XP1000SSS - English

Reef Octopus 6? Pinwheel In Sump Skimmer OCT-NWB150 - English

Bubble Magus BM-NAC7 Cone Protein Skimmer - English

IN-100 Vertex Protein Skimmer - English

Anybody have any input on the sss 1000? I'm kinda wondering if its a pain to get access to the pump since its underneath the skimmer...

I had the Vertex for over a year and was extremely pleased with it. Strong construction, felt more like one of the more expensive skimmers, skimmed like a beast.

Personally, for that price, you should look into the Bubble Magus NAC6. I just changed out my vertex for the BM-180 and it rocks. Nothing against the Vertex, but I think the BM is rated a bit higher...

I'd suggest checking out SWC skimmers as well. I have a SWC 120 and really love it. Great quality for the price, pulls a ton of junk and really easy to clean.

Who makes the aquamaxx as I'm not familiar with them? Also, I've heard that the vertex 100 is built well and does a great job but that their pumps may be suspect...

aquamaxx is the jns line. They are the re labeled warner marine skimmers. great product and a good price.

I run the XP1000SSS on a 80gal. total and works great a little better then the Vertex IN100 I had. The pump removes very easily from the bottom its fitted in the bottom just like side pumps.

Good to hear! So are there nylon/plastic screws that hold the bottom on?

Yep . I have one too . No issues at all . Been running it since April last year on a 70 cube . If you have the room look at the BMK 150 ?It is a lll cheaper , not a cone and the pump is twice as strong .650 to 700lph . Check out Luke at Reef Filtration . Great guy to deal with .

heard they were working on a partner ship using Eden pumps with SKIMZ ,but using their own bubble plate. No matter's I have the real deal . LOL

Thanks for the input:) I think I'm going to go with the octo sss 1000 cone. I have only heard great things on this skimmer and mojo's comment cements my opinion.
