Basically if these were your first corals, would you be dosing or how would you prep their new home and care for them in the first 2-3 months to ensure least amount of loss? If they’re in a brand new QT how would you prep that? I know acclimate, rxdips.

I’ve read a alot of forums most said wait it out, but not really tips on care.. The fish are in QT but I’m unsure I want to commit to the corals in one, and how much harder that may be? If I do I was thinking maybe just get a small aio for coral QT. Tank is brand new, we do have a coral light for that and I want to get a good bunch of variety to try.. esp if we do QT since you have to wait so long before the next batch.

If your tank is brand new, you're going to have uglies.

But corals can go in even if it isn’t cycled yet.(Maybe not sensitive corals like acropora.)

Cycling is for the fish and inverts mostly.

Are most corals pretty hardy or how do you care for them in their first weeks if you didn’t have a regiment already

DO YOU USE A PAR METER WHEN PLACING NEW CORAL IN YOUR TANK?

  • Yes! I think it's important for the longterm health/growth of my coral.
