Best Wavemaker for the money

What would be a good suggestion for a decent wavemaker. I like EcoTech, but can't justify the price. I have a Aqueon for my 38 gallon and it's fine. But would like one with modes.

Your not really gonna find a controllable one with that price range. You can get a jeobo wave maker but the have a bad reputation

They are a little out of that price range, but the Maxpect Gyres are by far my favorite wavemaker. I have two in my aquarium!

I've also wanted a cheaper wavemaker and the only things I've really found are: icecap gyres, skimz wavemakers, and the aforementioned jebaos. The icecap ones seem to get some decently bad reviews so I have avoided those. Jebaos also have bad reputations, especially if you use them as a wavemaker. And I just happened upon the skimz ones recently and there's basically zero information out there about them.

I've run the jebao for several years, still have a 5 year old one in my display. For the price, I'm ok with their performance. I have them in 3 tanks.
Sw2 in both the biocubes and a wp25 and 2 pp8 in my 250L tank.

For your price range, you could do a couple jebao or one of tunze 6055. The tunze is on sale right now for $157

I am using the IceCap gyre 3k. So far so good. My previous Maxspect gyre quit on me after just 2.5 years of use. The 1k gyre is on sale for $116.

No experience with them, but might want to check out Reefbreeders RP-M aka Coral Box RN-1. They are programnable too.

I think the Jebao's are the one to look at, specially in that price range.
You can also look as Rossmont. The sets come at a good price, but for the controller you will have to add a little to your budget.
Rossmont would be a good option if you can buy the set and later the controller. These are adjustable AC pumps.

A little beyond your desired price point but for a more classic wavemaker the Sicce voyager kit(15% currently on BRS) @191$ is a solid choice. Simple to setup and reliable. Place them opposite each other and control them with two simple knobs.

The icecap gyre also falls into your price range, but I haven't had a chance to use one yet.

Jebao pumps have worked fine for me. They just need to be cleaned very often. IME you can't ignore them like you can a Sicce/Tunze/Ecotech for months and expect them to not quit.

I wouldn’t dismiss Jebao’s, I have been running them for years with absolutely no issues other than my 3 year old RW4 that’s never been cleaned has slowed down a little but is still working just fine and the new OW series are super nice.. just because you spend huge amounts of money on a “big” brand names doesn’t necessarily mean it will be any more reliable than a jebao just look at all the threads about the mp40 failures.
