Anyone ever seen this before? Its been there for about 6 months now. It inflates during lights on and deflates at night. Doesn't seem to bother the coral or its growth. Any ideas as to what it is? I googled it and only found 1 other who had it said he had it for a few years and it didn't bother his coral at all either. He gave the coral away to a friend and as far as he knew the bubble was still there.

hey men.
this happens to me frecuently with my torch and hammer. mine use to do that when they are growing new heads, and sometimes they just do it to get me worry haha
right now i don't worry anymore i just leave them alone.

hope this help bro! just don't worry :D

Yikes it's a tumor!!! Pull out a scalpel and slice that thing off... jk jk don't listen to my advice. Your hammer looks pretty healthy, I wouldn't be alarmed.

Imo its an indication your hammer is splitting. Almost every hammer or frogspawn i owned does this, noone has an explanation to why it does this but i "think" its protecting the area thats starting to branch off. Usually the bubble is between 2 heads or a mouth and then itll sometimes drops tentacles. Again this is what ive seen and think, i wouldnt worry about it

Its funny that you say that because that is always what I want to do. But somehow self restraint takes over and I leave it alone. Thanks all. I will try and control myself and just leave it alone

Soon after the bubble you will see that the head (when corals are closed in the night) will not be circular anymore, but 2-3 head shapes, still as one piece, but slowly will grow apart.
