One thing I can not figure out is how to keep the home smelling fresh. Always run carbon, daily splashing the air filter with freshers. What are you guys/gals using to keep the tank smell to a minimum & the home smelling great???

I just noticed mine smelling funky I do run carbon too. I put a carbon filter on top of my skimmer where holes are. It worked!

Pretty cool, huh?! I remember being VERY proud of myself when I fixed the smell, lol. My old tank was RIGHT next to the dinner table!!

Glad to hear!:)

If you have a filter roller that will be a source of stink as well. I want to make a plexi cover for mine that will hold a bag of carbon on top of it. Yet another DIY project on the list...

My 100g and 40g are in my office. I have a Dyson air purifier that help. It looks like a fan without propellers. Originally got it cause son has allergies but I slowly moved it to my office and there it sits working it's magic.

My tank started to smell and since its in my office its not the biggest room.
I looked into a tiny air purifier and came across this one:

Amazon product ASIN B0849KW6HD
I have it set to the lowest setting and its not audible, any higher setting you can hear it. But even at lowest setting the smell is gone and since the sump area is very clean I never had to change the filter even after 6 months of operation 24/7

Can't tell if there is a top on there. If not, I used these for years and never had any odor in the room;
